Unique VIVID Lamps: RGB, Tunable White & Range Extenders

RSS

Choose a Unique FLEX GOLD VIVID lamp by the lighting function first: colored scenes or adjustable white light. Then confirm its format, generation, electrical requirements and control arrangement. The VIVID-R range extender addresses communication coverage; it is a separate decision from lamp output and transformer sizing.

Our Unique VIVID lamps and range extender collection brings together current MR16 and PAR36 options with the extender.

RGB versus tunable white

Model or family Light function Key distinction
LED-5W-BM6F-RGB27 MR16 RGB colors with a 2700K white setting Gen 2, 5W, 40° beam.
LED-5W-BM6F-RGB30 MR16 RGB colors with a 3000K white setting Gen 2, 5W, 40° beam.
LED-5W-BM6FL-CCT MR16 adjustable white from 2700K to 6500K Gen 2 CCT model; choose an RGB model for colored scenes.
VIVID PAR36 RGB with the listed white-light configuration Larger lamp format; verify the exact model and fixture connection.

Choose RGB for scenes that require color. Choose CCT when you want to vary the appearance of white light. A white setting on an RGB lamp is not evidence that it offers the same adjustable-white range as the CCT model.

Match the fixture before planning the app

Check the lamp's base or terminals, dimensions and operating voltage against the fixture. MR16 and PAR36 are not interchangeable. Unique specifies enclosed-fixture outdoor use for the Gen 2 MR16 models listed above; retain the housing's required lens and seals.

For transformer planning, Unique lists 7.98VA for RGB27, 8.21VA for RGB30 and 8.29VA for BM6FL-CCT. Their 5W designation is not a substitute for those VA figures. Total the actual selected models and check the supply's circuit limits and the cable layout. Compare Unique landscape transformers by the requirements of the complete installation.

Check the generation on an existing system

Use the full SKU when adding a lamp. Similar VIVID names can describe different generations, and Unique marks its Gen 1 MR16 RGB family discontinued. That does not mean an existing installation needs wholesale replacement; it means the replacement decision should use the documented model and control information.

Follow the current setup instructions for the selected lamp. Confirm the required app and device permissions, and test control before committing to final fixture positions. Do not assume other brands' Bluetooth lamps or Unique's separate control products share the same setup procedure.

What does VIVID-R do?

Unique specifies VIVID-R as a communication extender for all generations of FLEX GOLD VIVID lamps. It requires a 10–15V AC/DC supply and is added through the VIVID app. It is for VIVID lamps only; it is not a general-purpose Wi-Fi extender.

The published maximum transmission range is 230 feet under optimal conditions. Treat that as a conditional specification, not guaranteed spacing through walls or vegetation. The extender does not add transformer capacity, repair a voltage-drop problem or supply power to the lamps.

Plan coverage around the installed environment

Test lamp control from the locations where the system will actually be used. Buildings, enclosures and dense planting can affect the signal path. If one area is unreliable, first confirm that the lamp has the correct power and setup, then assess whether the communication route needs an extender.

Do not increase transformer output to solve a radio-coverage issue. Electrical supply and wireless communication are separate checks. Likewise, a Unique wiring HUB organizes cable connections; it is not itself a VIVID radio extender.

Documents and next steps

Review the Gen 2 CCT manufacturer specification and the VIVID lamp setup instructions, checking their applicability to your selected model.
