Select an under-cap or wall light
Measure the mounting area and check the fixture's dimensions, lead location and service access before choosing a model. Match the light's voltage and power requirements to the system; confirm whether mounting plates, connectors and other accessories are included.
Choose color temperature to complement nearby path and accent lights. Plan the cable route and use connectors approved for the installation. Compare landscape lighting transformers when building a new system.
Choose the mounting and control approach
For a new wall, plan the bracket and cable route before the capstones are secured. For an existing wall, check access and fit before ordering. Decide whether you want fixed white light, selectable white-light settings or a compatible color-changing system. Confirm the controls on the exact model rather than assuming every fixture in a brand has the same features.
