Southwire 12/2 landscape lighting wire supplies 500 feet of cable for low-voltage outdoor lighting. Its two stranded copper conductors and direct-burial construction suit connections between a compatible transformer and landscape fixtures. SKU: SWLW12500.
The 500-foot length can supply several separately planned lighting runs. Reel length is the amount supplied, not a recommended single-run distance.
Select 12 AWG cable using the run length, fixture load and allowable voltage drop. Gauge alone does not establish the number of fixtures a run can support.
Plan each run from the transformer to the fixtures, accounting for branches and the total connected load.
Choose waterproof wire connectors that accept 12 AWG and the actual number of conductors in each splice. Connections exposed to soil or moisture need connectors rated for that use. Browse landscape lighting transformers and compare other gauges in landscape lighting wire.
