Kichler Hardscape Lights

Shop Kichler hardscape lights for retaining walls, outdoor steps and under-cap lighting. Choose 12V integrated LED fixtures in 3.5-, 6-, 12- and 18-inch lengths, with 2700K or 3000K light and finishes that complement stone, brick and landscape materials.

The 16100–16103 family combines a sealed LED design with an adjustable light bar: up to 270° of pivot with the mounting bracket or 180° in a direct-to-surface installation. Aim the light toward the wall or walking surface and away from seated eye level.

Compare Kichler hardscape sizes, finishes and installation needs

Choose a Kichler LED hardscape light size

Measure the available mounting space and consider the height of the wall before choosing a fixture. The shortest model is sometimes described as a 3-inch hardscape light; its published length is 3.5 inches. Use the product dimensions when planning the installation.

Kichler 16100–16103 hardscape light comparison
Model family Length Light output Power / VA
16100 3.5 inches 10 lumens 0.3W / 0.5VA
16101 6 inches 40 lumens 0.9W / 1.45VA
16102 12 inches 85 lumens 1.9W / 2.8VA
16103 18 inches 125 lumens 2.7W / 4.3VA

These specifications apply to the listed 16100–16103 integrated LED family. Confirm the individual product specifications when selecting a different series. A longer fixture provides more output, but fixture length alone does not determine spacing.

2700K or 3000K: select the light color before ordering

Choose 2700K for a warmer appearance or 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white. Match nearby path, deck and accent lights for a consistent look. In these model numbers, the suffix 27 identifies 2700K and 30 identifies 3000K; they are separate fixed-color products, so select the intended color temperature at purchase.

Match the finish to your hardscape

The range includes Textured Architectural Bronze (AZT), Textured Black (BKT), Centennial Brass (CBR), Gray (GRY) and Sand (SD). Compare finishes with the wall cap, masonry and adjacent fixtures. For example, browse the 6-inch bronze 2700K hardscape light or the 12-inch Centennial Brass 2700K model.

Plan retaining wall and under-cap lighting

Position fixtures beneath capstones to reveal masonry texture and light the space below. For new construction, plan mounting brackets and cable channels before the cap is secured. For an existing wall, check access, bracket fit and the cable route before ordering. The pivoting light bar lets you adjust the direction after mounting, within the clearance available.

For steps and outdoor kitchens, consider where people stand or sit as well as the surface being illuminated. Test the placement after dark to check glare, shadows and coverage. Spacing depends on fixture output, mounting height, wall texture and the desired effect; one spacing measurement will not suit every installation.

Complete the low-voltage system

Use a compatible landscape lighting transformer, properly sized lighting wire and waterproof wire connectors approved for the location. Account for the full connected load, cable length and voltage drop. Check each fixture's installation instructions for electrical requirements and mounting details.

Kichler hardscape lighting FAQs

Where can I use Kichler hardscape lights?

Typical applications include retaining walls, sitting walls, masonry steps and outdoor kitchens. Their low profile fits beneath many wall caps, provided the fixture and bracket dimensions suit the available space.

Do these lights need a transformer?

The 12V models require a compatible low-voltage landscape lighting power supply. They are not intended to connect directly to household line voltage. Check the selected fixture's operating range and the transformer's capacity.

Can I change the color temperature on the fixture?

The 16100–16103 models shown here are ordered as fixed 2700K or 3000K versions. Select the appropriate suffix when purchasing; an adjustable mounting angle does not mean adjustable color temperature.

How far apart should hardscape lights be installed?

Use the manufacturer's photometric guidance for the selected model and mounting height, then check the layout on site. Wall reflectivity, corners, step geometry and glare all influence the final spacing.

Can these fixtures be added to an existing wall?

Retrofit installation may be possible when the bracket, wiring and mounting surface remain accessible. Check the construction and installation instructions before removing capstones or selecting a mounting method.
