Size the complete lighting system

For a layout with several lighting runs, calculate the complete connected load and evaluate each cable run. A larger transformer does not by itself correct undersized wire or eliminate voltage drop.

Select the output tap using cable length, wire gauge, connected load and measured voltage at the fixtures. Keep each lamp or fixture within its specified voltage range. Plan accessible mounting and control access, and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
