Unique Lighting Systems buying guide and questions
Choose fixtures for the effect you want
Use directional uplighting for trees and focal points, downlighting for light from above, and area fixtures for circulation spaces. The Bishop and Big Bang provide additional uplight choices. Compare fixture size, lamp requirements and beam control against the subject you want to illuminate.
Unique's Odyssey series uses solid-brass fixture construction. Verify the series and finish on each listing rather than extending that material claim to every item in the brand collection. When matching an older installation, retain the model number and finish reference as well as a photograph.
FLEX GOLD lamps and fixture-only models
Many listings identify a no-lamp configuration. Select a compatible lamp separately where required, matching its base, operating voltage, dimensions and fixture limits. Within the FLEX GOLD range, compare the exact lamp type and features. A VIVID product name alone does not establish that every generation has identical controls or compatibility.
Transformers and HUB connections
The 300W Pro-Force and 600W Pro-Force are hardwired transformer options. Unique also has a distinct direct-burial transformer line; direct burial is not a feature to assume for every transformer.
For a HUB-based layout, compare the Satellite HUB and Equalizer HUB with the system plan. Confirm cable routing, connection capacity and the instructions for the chosen components. Select landscape wire and connectors for the actual run lengths and installation conditions.
Unique Lighting Systems questions
Does “no lamp” mean the fixture is incomplete?
It means the lamp is selected separately. This lets you choose a compatible beam and light output, but the fixture still needs the correct lamp to operate.
Can I select a transformer only by wattage?
No. Also check input and output requirements, installation method, controls and the connected load. Follow the selected model's installation instructions.
How do I expand an existing Unique system?
Identify the installed fixtures, lamps, transformer and connection layout first. Then check available capacity and compatibility before adding products.
