Use it when planning communication between separated fixtures or groups, and verify reception at the intended mounting point. The extender is an accessory, not a lamp or transformer. Its low-voltage connection requires an appropriate power source, and actual wireless reach depends on the installation rather than the advertised maximum range alone.
