Brilliance EcoStar Lamps: Check Before You Replace
When replacing a Brilliance EcoStar lamp, begin with the exact model printed on the existing lamp or packaging. A family name alone is not enough to select a compatible replacement or establish warranty coverage.
Record the replacement requirements
- Lamp shape and base.
- Input voltage and AC or DC requirement.
- Dimensions and clearance inside the fixture.
- Color temperature and beam pattern.
- Power consumption and light output.
- Control and installation restrictions.
Compare a replacement by function
If the original item is unavailable, choose a replacement that meets the fixture's requirements and produces the desired nighttime result. The same wattage in a different lamp family may not provide the same output or beam. Test a sample next to the existing lamps before replacing a large group.
Verify warranty by product
Use Brilliance's warranty information for the specific lamp and purchase. Keep the receipt and full SKU. Do not assume every EcoStar or other Brilliance lamp shares one warranty term, adjustment feature, or rated life.
Check the fixture too
A new lamp will not fix damaged connections, a compromised seal, or an incompatible dimmer. Inspect the housing and supply arrangement when diagnosing an early failure. Follow the fixture instructions for opening and resealing it.
For help matching an older lamp, send clear photographs of its label and the fixture. That makes it possible to identify missing specifications before you order.
If your existing EcoStar uses a single-contact bayonet base, compare the SCB EcoStar options in bayonet LED replacement bulbs. Match the full model, contact arrangement and operating range; other bayonet lamps in that collection may use different voltages or double contacts.

Check voltage by model, especially on older installations
The 2026 SCB EcoStar cut sheet lists 8–14V AC/DC. The MR16 EcoStar cut sheet lists 8–25V AC/DC. Do not transfer the wider MR16 range to the SCB lamp.
Brilliance's SCB webpage currently contains conflicting voltage summaries. Confirm the label and applicable cut sheet with the manufacturer if they disagree. A transformer terminal marked 15V is not proof of the actual voltage at a fixture; have the delivered voltage checked under load against the lamp's permitted range.
How do I match an old EcoStar when the exact lamp is unavailable?
Start with a photograph of the full marking and base. Preserve electrical and physical compatibility first, then compare beam and color next to the remaining lamps. Do not choose solely by matching watts, and do not infer that the entire EcoStar family is discontinued because one option is unavailable.
What warranty applies to EcoStar lamps?
Brilliance's current lamp warranty page lists three-year coverage for G4, T5, SCB and MR16 EcoStar, subject to its eligibility requirements and exclusions. Keep the full SKU, date code and proof of purchase. Confirm the applicable terms before promising a replacement or credit.
